🏆 What Six Flags Announced

In its August 25 announcement, Six Flags said Arlington will become the primary base for its corporate leadership and shared business functions. The company already has a foothold here: part of its corporate workforce has worked out of Choctaw Stadium since 2020. It keeps an office in Sandusky, Ohio, and its Carowinds park on the Carolinas state line is staying put.

CEO John Reilly framed it as a way to run a leaner company that decides faster and sits closer to its parks. He called Arlington "a vibrant entertainment district where the Six Flags story began more than six decades ago." The company runs 34 amusement and water parks and nine resort properties across North America, five of them in Texas.

Headquarters landed in Charlotte after Six Flags and Cedar Fair merged in 2024. This move pulls the top of the company back to North Texas.

What We Don't Know Yet

Six Flags has not said how many positions will be based in Arlington or how many will be filled locally. Published reports quote Reilly saying Charlotte-based staff will have the chance to keep their jobs by moving to Texas, which suggests a good share of seats may be filled by transfers first. No public incentive package has been reported either.

So treat this as a heads-up, not a hiring call. What is certain: a large public company is concentrating its back office in Arlington over the next five months, and back offices hire.

💼 The Kinds of Jobs a Headquarters Brings

"Shared services" is corporate shorthand for the departments that support every park at once. Six Flags has not listed specific roles, but at a company this size those functions usually include accounting and finance, payroll, human resources and recruiting, IT and data, marketing and procurement. If you work in any of those fields in Tarrant County, this is worth watching.

Unlike park jobs, these are year-round, mostly salaried, and usually ask for a degree or solid experience. They get posted quietly, one at a time, so set alerts now.

The park is a separate pipeline: Six Flags Over Texas and Hurricane Harbor Arlington planned to hire more than 1,400 people for the 2026 season, mostly part-time seasonal work on its own calendar.
