Arlington, TX — The World Cup is over, the Rangers are running out the string, and the hiring calendar has quietly reset. What is on it now is less flashy than a summer of stadium work and a good deal more useful if you want something steady. September opened with a north Arlington warehouse employer's walk-in morning and back-to-back fairs at UT Arlington, and closed with a big general fair in Fort Worth on September 30, all now behind us. Still ahead: a customer service hiring event in Hurst on October 13, Macy's holiday hiring day at The Parks Mall on October 22, and on the first Thursday in November, 165 employers taking over Globe Life Field for the biggest hiring room Tarrant County puts on all year.

Arlington Workforce Center Hiring Fair Days — Wednesday, September 9

10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Arlington Workforce Center, 2000 E. Lamar Blvd., Suite 100

Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County runs these as one employer, one room, two hours. This one featured Compressed Air Systems, recruiting for shipping and receiving, order puller, mechanical assembler, production coordinator, and warehouse assembly technician. Nobody pretends these are big events, and that is the point: the ratio of recruiters to job seekers is better than at anything else on this list. This is the same north Arlington center that moved into a bigger space this summer, so if you have not been in yet, stop by and use the staff.

UTA College of Engineering Career Fair — Tuesday, September 15

The College of Engineering runs its own fair separate from the university-wide one, and it is the more targeted of the two. Employers came for full-time hires and for internships and co-ops across aerospace, architectural, biomedical, civil, computer, electrical, industrial, materials science, mechanical, resource and energy, and software engineering, plus computer science and construction management.

UTA All Majors Job & Internship Fair — Wednesday, September 16

12:00 – 4:00 p.m. | University of Texas at Arlington

The broadest fair on the UTA calendar, one day after the engineering one. It was open to all UTA students and alumni looking for full-time positions, part-time jobs, internships and field placements, with more than 100 employers expected.

2026 Fort Worth Area Job Fair — Wednesday, September 30

10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. | Nick and Lou Martin University Center, Texas Wesleyan University, 3165 E. Rosedale St., Fort Worth

Not an Arlington event, but it was roughly a half hour down I-30 and the only large general-audience fair between mid-September and November. Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County ran it with Trinity Metro and Texas Wesleyan, which put transit and logistics employers in the room alongside the usual mix, plus free professional headshots for attendees, same as the agency's other big fairs.

Mid-Cities Workforce Center Hiring Fair Days — Tuesday, October 13

10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. | Mid-Cities Workforce Center, 8701 Bedford Euless Road, Suite 100, Hurst

This time the workforce centers are hiring for themselves. C2 Global Professional Services, the contractor that runs Tarrant County's workforce centers for Workforce Solutions, is recruiting for 15 customer service representative openings spread across the county's centers. It is the front-desk job at a center: sizing up what a job seeker needs, matching them to openings and coaching on resumes. The posting asks for a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license and proof of insurance, and strongly prefers English and Spanish. Macy's Holiday Hiring Day — Thursday, October 22

Macy's runs a nationwide in-person hiring day at its stores on the 22nd, and the Arlington store anchoring The Parks Mall just north of I-20 is one of them. It is seasonal store work for the holiday rush, and you can apply in person that day or online any time. 15th Annual Hiring Red, White & You! — Thursday, November 5

10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. | Globe Life Field, 734 Stadium Dr.

The biggest hiring event on the Tarrant County calendar, and it is in Arlington. Workforce Solutions runs it with the Texas Workforce Commission and the Texas Veterans Commission as part of a statewide push, with 165 employers expected. It is a veterans event in origin and priority access goes to veterans and their spouses, but it is open to absolutely everyone. Parking is free in Lots A and R. There are free professional headshots near the entrance, job fair mentors stationed at four points inside for resume and elevator-pitch help, and interpreters in Arabic, French, Spanish and sign language. The employer list with job openings posts 72 hours before the doors open. A printed ticket is not required, there is no copier on site, and if you have a record on your background check, the organizers say most employers there handle it case by case and the mentors will coach you on how to raise it. → See details

Three events are still ahead, and they are for different people. Sort yourself:

  • Customer service, especially if you are bilingual: October 13 in Hurst. One employer, one job title, 15 openings.
  • Seasonal retail work for the holidays: October 22 at Macy's in The Parks Mall, with a second chance on November 19.
  • Veterans, military spouses, and anyone who wants the biggest room in the county: November 5. Put it in your calendar now and start prepping in October, not on November 4.
